For our Edinburgh Festival exhibition we are proud to present two of the Marchmont Gallerys favourite artists, Cat Outram and Kelly Stewart. Both artists are members of Edinburgh Printmakers and you may have seen some of their work around Marchmont Gallery already.
Kelly Stewart is an Australian artist/printmaker based in the Marchmont area. She focuses primarily on drawing architecture from the gothic, Victorian and Georgian periods. The drawings are quirky interpretations of Edinburgh cityscapes which are integrated with handwritten text and textural qualities. Kelly transfers the drawings into a series of hand generated layers on transparent films in preparation for the printmaking process . Kelly continues to produce limited edition silkscreen prints as well as original drawings for commissions both in and beyond Edinburgh.
Cat Outram is a printmaker living and working in Edinburgh. She exhibits regularily in small galleries in and around Edinburgh, at Craft fairs, Charity exhibitions, Open exhibitions and members shows at Edinburgh Printmakers, which is where she makes her etchings
